Starting Original Work

This week in ISM I wrote an assessment over an article about verbal and auditory hallucinations. The article was very interesting and gave me a lot of insight into how mental health care professionals analyze the symptoms of their patients. I also organized my portfolio, adding all of my recent work to it. This coming week I will begin brainstorming ideas for my original work project and write my original work proposal. I will also create my original work log and begin working on the project until I complete it toward the end of December. I am so excited to work on another project that will help me grow as a student and young professional. Completing this project will be a great way for me to compile lots of things I have learned thus far and explore new topics. I will likely be exploring severe mental illnesses. An idea that I had is that I could create an in depth report about how a psychologist approaches treatment of a patient with a specific disorder. This week I also hope to choose a mentor and ask them. Having a professional to assist my studies and project, and to learn from, will be an exciting step.
